I hope you enjoy using this simple overlay package to get your tournament streams up and running. These are the same overlay layouts that you've seen in #BrownieVAL since mid-2023. With a new #BrownieVAL event coming up with a new graphics package, it was a good time to allow others to take advantage of this great layout.

Quick-start

1. Download and unzip the .zip file from Ko-fi.
2. [Full package asset]: Double-click on "Overlay Images".
3. Find the overlay image you like, and add it to your OBS scene collection.
4. Add text labels and other graphics.
5. Profit!

How to Add the Included PNG Overlays to OBS

Depending on which Ko-fi package you bought, you'll either have just the black-and-white overlay, or the black-and-white, red, and brown overlays.

For each theme, there are two images, all with the prefix "BrownieVALOverlayKofiV1Overlay_":

• Full: The full overlay layout with the outer scoreboard extensions on the top left and right, with chat cover. This overlay spans the entire top of the screen.

• Simple: The overlay layout without the outer scoreboard extensions on the top left and right, with chat cover. This overlay only covers the top scoreboard and above.

To add the overlay to your OBS scene collection, simply drag-and-drop it to your sources. Or, add a new Image source by clicking on the "+" icon on the Sources panel and clicking on "Image".

Resolutions

All overlay images are in PNG format and 1920x1080px size. If you want to use these overlays in a higher resolution, you can purchase the full editable package, resize the .PSD file's canvas to a higher resolution, and re-export using the regenerated color or gradient effects. See below for more information on the .PSD file.

Edit The Overlays

If you bought the full editable package, it comes with a .PSD file representing the black-and-white overlay layout. You can open this file in Adobe Photoshop (paid) or Photopea (free). The components are divided into two groups: the top scoreboard and the chat cover. A test gameplay image is also provided, and is a screenshot as recent as of VALORANT Episode 8 Act 2.

In both programs, to edit a component, double click on "eff" or "fx" on a layer in the layers panel. The Layer Style window appears. Check the checkbox for either "Gradient Overlay" or "Color Overlay" on the left, and then change the colors on the right.

You can additionally add your own graphics on a new layer as you please.

To export the file, on the top left, click on "File" then "Export" or "Export As", and select the PNG option. Before exporting, make sure you hide the Test Gameplay Image layer by clicking on the eyeball icon next to the layer in the layers panel.

Use the OBS Template

For those who purchased the full editable package, a full example is prepared in the .json file named: "BrownieVALOverlayKofiV1SceneCollection.json".

You can import it to your OBS Project program (version >30.1) to check it out. To do so, in OBS, click on "Scene Collection" and then "Import", and select the .json file. Feel free to use it as a base for your own tournaments.

A preview of the included sources is below. It includes the base overlays, text sources, a VALORANT game capture and audio source, and a desktop audio capture. Please note that this scene collection assumes a 1920x1080px broadcast resolution.

You might run into an issue where there are "Missing Files" in the Scene Collection. Click on "Search Directory..." and click on the folders named "Text Sources" and "Overlay Images" to import them properly. When all the files are found, then you've imported the missing sources correctly.
